ESPN’s draft picks: Who will win the 2018 NBA draft?
The 2017 NBA draft is in the books and it’s all about the teams that made the NBA’s all-time winningest team list.
ESPN’s Chris Forsberg ranked every team’s top 10 prospects in a preview that you can read here.
The Warriors, Cavs, Lakers, Nets, Heat, Raptors, Pacers and Clippers are the teams ahead of the rest of the pack with four selections apiece.
The rest of this draft is filled with interesting names.
The Cavaliers had two of the top three picks and the Clippers had the most selections with nine.
But the Cavs are also the first team in league history to win back-to-back NBA titles, so they have a chance to become the first dynasty team ever.
There’s no question the Cavs have been a very good team since LeBron James returned to the league in 2021.
Their success was fueled by a revamped coaching staff led by David Blatt and the addition of Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving.
They are one of the best teams in the NBA and could go much higher if they keep building.
But the Warriors will be looking to improve on that accomplishment.
The Cavs had one of their worst records last season with a 55-61 record.
But that was after a massive overhaul of their roster led by head coach Tyronn Lue.
Lue’s aggressive recruiting and rebuilding strategy has the Cavaliers one of only three teams in NBA history with at least three All-Star selections.
That team was the 2007 Los Angeles Lakers, who had three of the four first-round picks in the draft.
They also have two of three rookies in the top 10, including one of five in the first round.
Luscious rookie point guard Lonzo Ball has become a consensus top-10 pick and the Cavs could get their man this draft.
The Warriors also have a solid backcourt of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, but they also have their share of talent.
Cavs pick is expected to go to BrooklynBrooklyn’s second-round pick could be a lottery pick or a late first rounderThe Celtics have the best odds of landing their 2018 first-rounder, according to Forsberg.
The Celtics have no need for a pick and instead could go with a late pick.
The Bulls have the second-best odds at 1.3 percent.
The Cavs could also target an elite prospect.
Boston is one of two teams in league lore to win the NBA championship, but it’s unclear if they have the star power to make it happen.
The Timberwolves have the top overall pick in the 2018 draft, but that was before they traded for Kevin Love.
Boston also has a chance at grabbing another player in this draft who could end up being a lottery choice.
Cavaliers pick could go to MilwaukeeThe Bucks have a top-five pick in 2018 and they have been one of several teams that have tried to make a run at Cleveland.
But they would be in trouble if the Cavaliers draft a guard.
Cleveland has a lot of guard prospects, including Kevin Love, DeAndre Liggins, Jabari Parker and the potential lottery pick.
The Bucks could use the pick to address their need at shooting guard.
Milwaukee had a solid group of shooting guards last season and could use help on the wings.
The Bucks also have Andrew Wiggins, Khris Middleton and Brandon Knight.
The Nets are the second most dangerous team in the league at shooting guards, and the Bucks could be in the market for help there.
The Raptors could target a wing in the second roundThe Raptors have a lot to like in this class, but the Raptors have the third-worst odds of making the playoffs in 2018.
Toronto is the only team in NBA playoff history to not reach the playoffs and have no player drafted.
They have the worst record in the East and a lot more talent.
The Celtics could target another player from the EastThe Celtics would be a strong contender to land a wing if they want to move up to grab another player.
They could go after a guard in the middle rounds or a wing with the 14th pick.
Chicago is the second worst team in this year’s draft class, and Boston has a few players with high potential, including Marcus Smart and Kris Dunn.
Boston could target an explosive wing in round twoThe Celtics should be in a position to take a big-time player in the 2019 draft.
They might have the most talented roster in the Eastern Conference, but Boston has one of its best shooters in Josh Jackson and is very talented in the frontcourt.
They also have several talented wing prospects like Marcus Smart, Kris Dunn and Jae Crowder.
The Heat have a few interesting prospects in this round.
They’ll be looking for shooters and wing players to improve their team’s frontcourt and could target shooting guards in this pick.
Miami also has the most talent at the position, including Hassan Whiteside and Justise Winslow.
The Heat could also go after another player
