The NBA has been in a state of flux since the start of the season, with the Golden State Warriors taking the league by storm in a dominating manner, but what about when the team has been on the court for months?
What if the Cleveland Cavaliers were playing right now?
That is the thought process behind the latest mock draft from ESPN.com’s Rob Mahoney, who is projecting the Cavs to win the 2017 NBA title with the No. 2 pick.
Mahoney also has the Cleveland Browns getting a first-round pick for their No. 4 pick.
In other words, if the Cavs win the NBA title, they will be one of the few teams that could have gotten the No, 1 pick from the Celtics.
If that happens, the Cavaliers will be a lock to take the No in the first round.
The NBA draft is scheduled for April 18-21.
The latest mock drafts from ESPN:The Cavaliers won the NBA championship with a franchise-record 51 wins, and that team was led by LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.
The Cavaliers finished the regular season with a record of 37-12.
James and Irving led the team in scoring with 29.7 points per game and shot 42.5 percent from 3-point range.
Irving was named MVP of the NBA Finals.
James finished with the most assists of any player in the NBA.
